In memory of.....

LETTIR FRÁ HOFSSTÖDUM born 1983

Lettir was put to sleep 28 November 2008 due to an accident in the pasture. He was 25 years old.

Lettir was bought at age 15 (1998) and became our 3rd horse. He was a real gun powder packets and therefore I chose to have him as a leader horse. He was brave and always made good choices in rugged terrain.

His last 2-3 years Lettir was semi retired and went as a packhorse, this was something that he liked enormously. He was running free and decide when he should eat and avoid having rider on the back - it was a luxury for him.

Lettir was a real mischievous horse but with a twinkle in his eye - so he's missing .......

SVARTUR FRÁ BREIDABOLDSTAD born 1980

Svartur was put to sleep September 17, 2009 due to old age and age ailments at almost 30 years old.

Svartur was our 5th horse at age 19 when we bought him, already an old man, but despite this, very alert, strong and with incredibly strong legs. He went into business for 3-4 years and semi-retired (packhorse) shortly before he retired completely.

The last 4 years, he had a "foster-attendent" and he got a fantastically good old age. Svartur was more like a dog than a horse and came as fast his attendent called him. As a 27-year-old became Svartur run in and run took over more of the riding when Svartur managed it better.

FANNAR FRA STRÖND born in 1990 (palomino)

Fannar died quickly after a short illness, October 14, 2014 at the farm.

Fannar became our 6th horse and he was bought in 2001 from Stockholm .... but was born on Iceland.
Fannar was kind, a little odd, big and strong but at the same time unsociable and was therefore a little outside the flock. It was noticed in his interaction with other horses that he had a slightly different behavior. He was elusive in the paddock but at the same time a trusting friend. He will be missed by many.

  • SLETTA FRÁ KÖLDUKINN born 1986 (black-and-white pinto)

Sletta was put to sleep 9 December 2014 after an acute liver disease / lymph edema, almost 29 years old.

Sletta was purchased as our 4th horse in 2000 from south of sweden, but she was born in Iceland. Upon arrival Sletta was incredibly scared and shy and could barely get in. But over time became Sletta more light-hearted and she was my very kindest and calmest horse. Everyone could ride her even very young children. Many are thoose who lost their fear of horses thanks to Sletta. Sletta was BBF with Flugar.

In early October 2014 Sletta moved to a new home with a "foster-attendent" but just after a short while she became acutely ill and was put to sleep. She is not only missed by us but also by her new foster-family ...
